Black Rhinoceros (Diceros Bicornis)

  • Native to eastern and central areas of Africa
  • Males can weigh up to 3000 lbs (1360 kg)
  • Use their horns for defense and for breaking branches
  • Are not actually black, but are grey and white
  • Also called the Hook-lipped Rhinoceros
  • Critically Endangered due to illegal hunting for their horns
