• Smallest of the wild equids (horses, zebras and asses)
• Average 4 feet (1.2 meters) high and weigh about 600 pounds (272 kg) 
• Live in desert areas in Somalia, Ethiopia and Eritrea
• Legs have horizontal black stripes
• Eat grasses and shrubs
• Critically endangered
