Seahorse
Seahorse
- Named after their horse-like appearance
- Range in size from 1/2 inch (1.5 cm) to 16 inches (35 cm) long
- Prefer to live in sheltered areas like coral reefs and seagrass beds
- Are monogamous and mate for life
- Female deposits eggs in male's pouch where they reside until hatched
- Eat shrimp, crustaceans and plankton
