Dwarf Zebu (Bos primigenius indicus)

  • Breed of domestic cattle descended from zebu and sacred cow of India
  • Adults stand approximately 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall
  • Eat grasses and grains
  • Used to pull plows and carts in India
  • Have large hump made of fat and muscle
  • Have large flap of skin under their neck called dewlap

Black Rhinoceros

Black Rhinoceros (Diceros Bicornis)

  • Native to eastern and central areas of Africa
  • Males can weigh up to 3000 lbs (1360 kg)
  • Use their horns for defense and for breaking branches
  • Are not actually black, but are grey and white
  • Also called the Hook-lipped Rhinoceros
  • Critically Endangered due to illegal hunting for their horns

American Bison

American Bison (bison bison)

  • Largest land animal in North America with males weighing up to 2000 pounds (910 kg)
  • Males up to 6.5 feet (2 meters) tall and 11.5 feet long (3.5 meters)
  • Once roamed from Mexico up to Northwestern Canada in large herds
  • Herbivores that graze on grasses, shrubs and sedges
  • Live up to 20 years in wild
  • Regurgitate their food and chew it as cud
